void the warrenty on what? you are already nuking the wattenty on your car. the warrenty for the blower shouldnt be affected by a dyno tune, they are expecting you to do it.

Your supplied chip will do you just fine for now. Manufacturers are always tuning them conservatively with safety in mind, so that shouldn't be too much of a concern for you. On the other hand, if you want maximum performance out of your combination, then the dyno tune is always recommended.

Its funny when people that dont have a KB come out with ignorant comments!
YOU DONT NEED A DYNO TUNE.

If your Big tube came with your original packaging dont worry about it, your chip will have that burned into it. you wont need a dyno tune unless you do a big mod upgrade example: head/cams/gears.
you either can send it back to KB to get it reflashed or then get it done in a dyno shop.
PM me if you need help with some steps or any questions on your KB install
and or go here

its a KB forum with KB OWNERS that know what the F*** they are talking about. and not give you wrong GUESSED information

Will it void the warranty...! That is the funniest thing I have read in a long time. Have you read your mod list lately?

Obviously you have some disposable income... Drive it like you stole it and just pay to have it fixed if it breaks!

I think he is talkin about the warranty on he KB. KB wants you to use their tune since they can not trouble shoot someone elses if you have a problem.

You love to hear yourself speak, don’t you? Are you still pissed because I bested you in our last little argument? Who cares if I don’t own a KB…..what difference does that make. I own a positively displaced blown car that works on the same principals as the KB and have proven in the past to have a far better working knowledge of the principals of forced indution than you’ll ever have! What, just because you read a couple of magazine articles and bought one on your parents credit card, you’re now all of the sudden the site expert on everything Kenne Bell? When I want your opinion, I’ll give it to you clown, until the STFU! Kenne Bell (as well as most major brands) is famous for providing a rich tune with their kits. That their little way of ensuring that they don’t blow customers cars up after the install and endure negative feedback from the kit. Yeah a dyno tune is ideal from a performance perspective and if you’re making additional breathing improvements and variations to the overall combination, but not necessary to run the kit in general. If Kenne Bell foresaw any problems with it, they wouldn’t supply a tune with the kit in the first place! If in the future you still want to see ingnorant, take a peek in the mirror next time mouthpiece. Till then, keep your unfounded comments to yourself!

you are really ignorant!! you dont even have a KB so STFU!
How the hell you are going to determine and definitely recommend a Dyno tune right after you received the kit! oh wait you dont know because you dont have a mustang nor a KB in it so STFU again!

just go back to those mercury boards that you came from! I bet they appreciated your ignorant comments overthere.

That's pretty funny Junior. I was a member of this board and driving Mustang while you were still rubbing your rhubarb to the Sears catalogue, running around on your 10-speed and popping pimples on your funny face! I had 3-Stangs before this and my new car has got the same 4.6L that everyone else here is running, just in a different package. What's the matter.....is it that slow of a day at McDonalds that you feel as though you need to start picking fights on the web? Get back to flipping burgers and leave the tech talk to the grown-ups, son!

I appreciate Gearbanger 101's advice and I have found him to be quite knowledgeable. I think, going by post counts alone, that YOU should STFU 02GTKB.

No offense though brutha, I have read some good posts from you as well...

Can't we all just get along?

yes I was talking about the warranty on the unit itself, but anyways I ordered the kit first and then got their big tube kit after with a new chip.
The install seems straight forward and my cousin's been a mechanic at ford for 5 years so I think we might install it ourselves and get it tuned afterwards Any advice on the install?

thanks,

1) Follow the directions .. supposedly they are written at a 6th grade level.

2) If in doubt, call KB, or ask for help on modular fords KB section..

3) PM somebody who's done it.. starting a new thread will likely get you no responses, or yet another brawl like happened in this one.

Try having a look at 'Kenne Bell' it has all the tech info you should need, also try the paperwork that you got with your kit.

Kenne Bell state that alsong as your car is stock and you only add there components (CAI, TB, etc) and you bought all the bits at the same time their chip will be bang on, if you already have mods you should have informed them and they would have custom tuned the chip for your needs.

Get the car dyno'd as it will give you a power reading and will make sure it is all ok, if its out then contact Kenne Bell and they will help. You must follow a strict procedure for having your car dyno'd, click here Kenne Bell dyno thread

I am 99.9999999999% sure your tune will be right on from KB. I was one of the original owners of the 99-04 GT kit when it came out a few years ago. With that said, I was expecting to have the typical Guinea pig type tune. Not the case. Ken had it NUTS ON the first shot!!! I know Ken the tuner pretty damn well and have been dealing with him for going on 3 years now. I chose him to tune my Cobra because of his experiance and know how. The guy is a GENIOUS!! I would however hit the dyno just for a piece of mind. I will show you if there are any problems. Almost all the screwed up A/F and tune issues I have seen with the KB kits have been caused by install error, not the tune. I'll post my last last dyno sheet from my gt for ya.
