I just recieved my KB 9PSI Kit, with there big tube kit. Will I need a dyno tune? or is there supplied chip safe?
Your supplied chip will do you just fine for now. Manufacturers are always tuning them conservatively with safety in mind, so that shouldn't be too much of a concern for you. On the other hand, if you want maximum performance out of your combination, then the dyno tune is always recommended.Bundmar said:I just recieved my KB 9PSI Kit, with there big tube kit. Kilgore Trout said:Will it void the warranty...! That is the funniest thing I have read in a long time. Have you read your mod list lately?
Obviously you have some disposable income... Drive it like you stole it and just pay to have it fixed if it breaks!![]()
You love to hear yourself speak, don’t you? Are you still pissed because I bested you in our last little argument? Who cares if I don’t own a KB…..what difference does that make. I own a positively displaced blown car that works on the same principals as the KB and have proven in the past to have a far better working knowledge of the principals of forced indution than you’ll ever have! What, just because you read a couple of magazine articles and bought one on your parents credit card, you’re now all of the sudden the site expert on everything Kenne Bell? When I want your opinion, I’ll give it to you clown, until the STFU! Kenne Bell (as well as most major brands) is famous for providing a rich tune with their kits. That their little way of ensuring that they don’t blow customers cars up after the install and endure negative feedback from the kit. Yeah a dyno tune is ideal from a performance perspective and if you’re making additional breathing improvements and variations to the overall combination, but not necessary to run the kit in general. If Kenne Bell foresaw any problems with it, they wouldn’t supply a tune with the kit in the first place! If in the future you still want to see ingnorant, take a peek in the mirror next time mouthpiece. Till then, keep your unfounded comments to yourself!02GTKB said:Its funny when people that dont have a KB come out with ignorant comments!
YOU DONT NEED A DYNO TUNE.
If your Big tube came with your original packaging dont worry about it, your chip will have that burned into it. you wont need a dyno tune unless you do a big mod upgrade example: head/cams/gears.
you either can send it back to KB to get it reflashed or then get it done in a dyno shop.
PM me if you need help with some steps or any questions on your KB install

I am 99.9999999999% sure your tune will be right on from KB. I was one of the original owners of the 99-04 GT kit when it came out a few years ago. With that said, I was expecting to have the typical Guinea pig type tune. Not the case. Ken had it NUTS ON the first shot!!! I know Ken the tuner pretty damn well and have been dealing with him for going on 3 years now. I chose him to tune my Cobra because of his experiance and know how. The guy is a GENIOUS!! I would however hit the dyno just for a piece of mind. I will show you if there are any problems. Almost all the screwed up A/F and tune issues I have seen with the KB kits have been caused by install error, not the tune. I'll post my last last dyno sheet from my gt for ya.Bundmar said:I just recieved my KB 9PSI Kit, with there big tube kit. Will I need a dyno tune? or is there supplied chip safe?
