Alright guys, just posted on corral, but thought I'd post my dyno results here also. Went to SpeedFreaks Inc in Tracy, CA and Ravi did a phenomenal job tuning using SCT with 4 setting chip (Thanks dude!) This is for a 2000 GT vert with stock internals, 30lb injectors, and stock MAF.

Baseline (Vortech V2-SQ w/o meth): 315 rwhp
Baseline (Vortech V2-SQ w/meth): 302 rwhp

Assuming 15% hp loss due to drivetrain, this puts the baseline Vortech at roughly at 362...roughly what Vortech advertises. As expected, the Snow Boost Cooler w/o a tune lost HP because of an over rich state (plus a bad Vortech base tune...A/F ratio dipped to the 9's...yikes!)

After some magic by Ravi, the final RWHP numbers are:

Final (Vortech V2-SQ w/ meth): 407.5 rwhp!

We decided to be safe and backed things down to 392 rwhp for the most agressive tune. Until I get some forged internals, I'm happy with the results. Now how the heck do I post the dyno graphs?

Yea GREAT #s for 8PSI!

You have to upload the dyno graph from your PC to somewhere like www.photobucket.com and then after it uploads, copy teh URL web address. Then come over here and put
at the end of it.....basically your enclosing the URL with those things, and that tells the site to go to that address and look for a pic. Then it loads it to the server I believe.

Congrats, but why only 30lb injectors? With almost 400 hp, I thought 42's were manditory

Thanks for the assist. I posted the dyno graphs below. As far as the injectors, Vortech originally supplied 30lb injectors in 2001, but switch to 36lbs several months later. The limiting factors for my tune were the injectors and the MAF which was pegging at 4.95 volts (5v being the limit).

I'm glad I went with the SCT 4-bank chip and have the ability to switch tunes. Ravi did mention that although people say that you can switch "on-the-fly," he advised to turn the engine off first so the binary files will read properly. I went with the four tunes below:

#1 - Fuel Economy setting, non-aggressive, daily driver tune (342rwhp)
#2 - Optimum tune for Vortech V2-SQ w/o methanol (358rwhp)
#3 - Optimum tune for Vortech V2-SQ w/ methanol (372rwhp)
#4 - Same as #3, but for 110 octane and 91 mix (392rwhp)

Here is an overlay of the baseline Vortech tune w/o methanol (315rwhp) and the adjusted tune (342rwhp). I learned something cool from Ravi...he said that at WOT, he tuned the injectors to pulse a few miliseconds before the valves open (recollection is a bit fuzzy so I'm not sure how accurately I'm quoting) to cool the valves... Any thoughts on this?

I just looked on that Speedfreaks website - they use a Mustang Dyno, so these numbers are certainly impressive.

Broson01,

that injector thing you are talking about is a something only a few tuners actually know how to do. Looking at your numbers your tuner Definetly knows how to work it. It takes some in depth software adjustments to do it. CONGRATS...
Do you have the number to the shop you went to, I would like to see what they can pull out of my car..

Thanks

Dang, that's sick hp from those tiny pieces you have (30lb injectors and stock MAF). What's your a/f and timing set to?

Ravi is a programming engineer by trade and when he started talking about binary codes in relation to the PCM, I was impressed. I've never heard or read any tech article regarding the pulsing of injectors, but man, I'm loving it. The number to the shop is 209-609-0355 (ravi@speedfreaksinc.net)

AmBo - the A/F was set at 12.5, but in my excitement, I forgot to ask for the total timing. I can get that info from Ravi along with the video of the dyno tune session. I'll post the video as soon as I get it.

Nice numbers! But number 3 is your true numbers. What you can run on the street on 93 octane is what counts. j/k Good job. I almost went with water/alchy inj. But I'm to lazy to watch it.

Little bit lean I would expect the timing to a little high because water/alchy inj likes the timing.

They do usually read lower. But they are also the easiest to manipulate.
