Dyno Tune with New Motor

Would I hurt the motor any if I put my car on the dyno to tune it? Whats the best way to break in a new motor? Does it matter what kind of oil i use? This is my first new motor so any help would be great.

just use conventional non synthetic is what i hear is highly recommended for breakins, makes sense anyways to use the cheaper oil since ur going to replace soon anyways on a fresh motor to clear out the metal shavings, additives i thought only help the oils performance i believe in mileage and flashpoint
