Ive got an 88 mustang with a 2v motor/tranny/computer swap that im wanting to get on the dyno to see where everythings running and have tuned. Its got a preset from a diablo handheld (used just to get around the PATS) but i feel like i could get it better dialed in and get more out of it and/or atleast see where its falling off to plan further modification, if i found some1 arnd that new what they were lookin at. Im pretty leary of using just any1 and prefer to stick with a mustang only shop to get the best results, if possible. Does any1 know if Archangel is still around in Tulsa, Ok? Im located in Rogers, Ar.....

oh.. its runnin on the factory in tank setup for fuel but its my understanding the newer engines dont use this returnless fuel system and it was gnna cost me like $1000 to do it right.... so its my guess the shop set it up according to voltage and may be the reason for tuning troubles..????

...and how can i go about wiring up my factory guage cluster to this newer motor/computer setup?...all i have currently is an aftermarket oil press and water temp...i would like my gas, speedo, and tach!

we are headed to house of boost next weekend to tune a 98 pi swapped, cammed, n2o car. I'm in joplin (just north of ya). This was the best option we found that has had consistent results with mustangs.

what fuel system do you have now? You can keep the return if that's what you have. 96 to 98 stock had return systems.

I have the factory setup with a 255 in take pump...my motors an 02 which is not returnless...correct? I figure this is the reason for the tuning issues because it would be depending on voltage ???

and yea joplins abt 30mins from me...wheres this house of boost? Ive heard the name thrown around alot. As far as the guages im thinking a florida 5.0 cluster :-)

The motor makes no difference on return/less as the computer and fuel system does. If you have a 255 pump and are using the 02 rails/system then I could forsee issues. If you use the tank, lines and fuel rails from a 96 or 97 gt then you can have the TRUE return style system in a mod car. The 98 I built is a hybrid year, uses return style lines, rails, but with a voltage regulated returnless style pump. We burned up a focus pump on the bottle and got lucky not to melt down a piston, so we ended up re wiring the pump with a simple painless wiring kit for an old style 255 pump. (we also swapped in 97 rails so we could put an adjustable regulator on since the 98's was built into the rails) The car was pig rich (actually had fuel) the only time we got it to mokan then we shattered the rear end the 3rd pass.

So I guess I would be curious as to which factory set up you have, fox body or the 02?

Rogers is very close to me yes, Check out (sorry mods if I can do this) www.100mphclub.com. Its a local site (based out of Joplin/Springfield) that gets together multiple times a year and does a mini version of the hot rod power tour during the summer for some good times. We have a lot of NWA users as well.

Anyway, the florida 5.0 cluster is my suggestion and how I planned on swapping a mod into a fox (before I got the deal on my cobra).

House of Boost is in KC, MO. There are a few tuners in Tulsa and Ok City as well. Also Gearheads in Dallas seems to be a good place to go. We ran a "mail" order tune from vmp that was GREAT on the motor but ok on the bottle. was SUPER lean when we put it on a local dyno (caseys road and race, in neosho, mo) but I think it was the fuel pump issues more than the tune that made it lean.

Yea thats what it is a 255 pump with the 02 rails. As for the website i have checked it out and recognize a couple local cars that run MAKO and TT5. Ive also heard of that caseys but they said they jus have the dyno and dont have any1 doing tuning, bring your own guy ???

Yes, Casey's is a tune on your own dyno/bring your own guy.

So what lines are you using. Stock fuel tank I would assume, how do you mate up to the 02 rails? My suggestion is to find a set of 96-97 rails to you can go fully returnless and eliminate that issue. That way you have manual adjustability and the ability to tune on your own a bit easier.
