SN95 E-brake lever button rattles - complete disassembly. how?

Hi guys
I'd like to get to the button of the e-brake lever to put an o-ring to stop the rattling. Can someone tell me how to disassemble the lever?
I know how to remove the lever from the car but I don't know if it's possible to disassemble it without using a angle grinder

The two plastic covers on the handle do pull off. The lower one is pretty east but that top one requires a LOT of force.

You can try...but like I said it's really on there securely and not sure the removal won't damage it in the process.
