After reading the Thread over on Tech Section about the brake failure, i felt kinda scared. My e-brake doesn't really stop you. Almost none at all. Is there a way to fix that. or are they just like that. Cuz almost every one i know is like that to. I have the rotors and brake pads for the back just been to lazy to install them This would be a good time to see if its fixable. I got to much work done on this car to loose it to something like my brakes failing

my ebrake blows. there is no way to adjust ours so my guess is that it is just strecthed cables. im not sure though. i never use my ebrake when i park, just in gear only. so mine has been crappy like that for over 3 years since i got the car.

Yup. Crappy crap. I put new cables on mine last year, at least now the hand lever moves but it still won't hold the car on any sort of incline or slow it down when its coasting. Not only Mustangs but pretty much every Ford I've driven with rear disk brakes has an essentially worthless e-brake.

you know on those old roadrunner cartoons, when the coyote would open an umbrella right before he gets smashed by a huge boulder..

thats what my ebrake reminds me of, ill prob spend to much time debating whether to pull the e-brake or stick my foot out the door and use my shoes to slow the car down

I just changed my rear pads last week. I didn't put the gel stuff on the pads so they've been squeeking.
Last night I used the e-brake to stop the car a couple times, just to make sure it was the new rear pads squeeking.

Mine is pretty lame too. It'll hold the car pretty well if i pull it all the way up but it wont stop me whatsoever if i'm already moving. Which kills my plan to move to tokyo and compete in parking garage drift races :nonono:

Well...look on the bright side.
You can just build a 10sec. Eclipse and move to LA. Just be careful, cause if your exhaust manifold cracks then your floorboard will fall out.

How many Mustangs are over there? You think there like seeing a skyline over here. very rare.??? My friend who is stationed in tokyo, says he says supras and skylines like he sees mustangs and camaros over here

Some countries in europe are far worse. A good friend of mine from Holland said that my car is absolutely HUGE and would be a PITA to drive on most roads over there. Apparently the Lamborghini Murcelago (sp?) is prohibited because it is too wide. Funny thing is this is the smallest car i've ever owned.
