Hey all--anyone know if these are still available? I picked up TWO damn nails this AM and had one go flat on me. My spare doesn't match and the three others all have tread left. Hopefully my tire guy can work wonders with a patch/plug.

Still, had that thing swapped out in 10 minutes. Felt like the Dad from The Christmas Story!

PS How come you never have flats when A) you don't have to be anywhere and B) you are wearing crappy clothes?

That's what I had heard, too. My tire guy told me that Goodyear dumped them because they lasted too long! Mine have certainly lasted a long time. A set of tires is not what I wanted to buy right now. . . .

If been running Hercules HP4000's for twenty something years. They have raised white letters, better traction than the ST's had. I bought one set of ST's back in the early 80's for the biig block Stang , they had no traction whatsoever, didn't last long either on the rear The Hercules are made by Cooper Tire, they also seel them under the Cooper Cobra name, same tire, just different name. They last as long as or longer than the ST's did. They also have raised white letters like the HP4000's do. Nice price too, I get em for around $75 a tire here.

My tire guy cut me a deal on a set of Eagle GTII's. His cost with free mounting/balancing and such. (He's a fellow mustanger.) It also doesn't hurt that he's put tires on my truck and my wife's VW in the past month. These are a solid white letter.

The tire didn't pick up a nail--it split. Luckily I wasn't running late today so it wasn't at speed.

I liked my STs--they lasted well. I wasn't pushing the HP that you probably had, D. Hearne, in your big block!
