Hey everyone, every now and then my tranny grinds a bit from 1st to second. Thought I might try adjusting the bands to see if that would help seeing as how as far as I know they've never been adjusted in at least 4 years.
I've looked in my Haynes, Chiltons, and Haynes Ford Transmission rebuild books (I know, I need the shop manual) but I'm having a problem. The specs say to tighten the low-reverse to 10ftlbs, then back off 3 turns. Then tighten the intermediate to 10ftlbs and back off 1.75 turns. Here's the problem- I don't know what screws are which- the books just say "_____ adjustment screw" and have the same picture.
Can someone tell me the location for each screw ( I think one is forward on the driver side and the other is rearward on the passenger side?) and if these specs are correct. Oh, and any tips would be greatly appreciated.
