My eaton posi, 31 spline axles and Ford Racing dif cover where all put in this last week. The Eaton posi required a certain type of GM gear lube and friction modifier. The GM parts guy (who has done this swap a few times on Fords and Chevy's) told me I would only need 2 x 23oz bottles, but I thought our 8.8 rears needed a total of 60 oz? Is this a big deal? Should I add more fluid?

I'm shooting for 12's this weekend. I've got traction and probable 50 degree air temps so I'm hoping to rip off a good time.

If memory serves me correct last time I did rear end work, we used 2 qts of redline 75w90 and 1 bottle of ford motorsport friction modifyer.

Dudes, you'll rip 12's no problem this weekend! Shift that bitch at 6000-6200 and enjoy. Try a touch more FP to see if the car needs more fuel with that new rpm upper.

I got an Eaton Posi, 31 spline Moser axles and new wheel studs for $550. It is so nice to have both wheels spinning.

I was a little shy of 2 quarts, thats why I asked.

I switched back to the Performer intake, its a little better for daily driving. I think my original thoughts on the RPM were wrong. I'm going to try to get 12's with the Performer, then experiment with the RPM next year. Plus the RPM intake wouldn't fit very well with the AFM power pipe. I had to unbolt the throttle body and power pipe just to add oil to my car!
