well if the bearings look ok on the T-lok carrier you can pull them off and transfer them to the new LSD. Make sure you have a set of carrer shims just incase you need them along with a dial indicator to set the back lash. As far as removing the C-clips its easy but first you must remove the sensor located on the backing plate of the wheel to be able to push the axle in. A 8mm socket and wrench will be needed to remove the carrier shaft to get to the C-clips..... here is a thread i did on gear install it has pics on what im talking about........

you will need the following

carrier shims

new carrier bearings or pull you old ones (new bearings is quicker)

dial indicator

the grease for checking wear pattern

torque wrench

telescoping magnet (makes c-clip install and remove easy)

3 quarts of recomended gear lube (4 oz friction modifier if not included in the gear lube)

if you have all these things it can be done in an evening.

now if you rebuild you trac lok most likely all the current shims will work so in all reality time wise it is about the same and the trac lok rebuild will save you about $380. you can also buy the carbon fiber clutches if you wanted and then you would save about $330 and have carbon fiber cluthes just like the eaton.

my .02 is rebuild the trac lok that way most likely your existing setup will work just fine. all you will do is RR the trac lok. bolt it back in and verify the setup and most likely it will be right on.

with the eaton chances are the diff is going to come in an out a couple times and that will take as long a rebuilding the trac lok.

How hard was it to rebuild it with it in the axle? I can feel mine starting to slip at certain times.

I have a brindle right now, hes pushing 11 years old... his whole face and most of his head is grey though, about the only brindle part is from his neck back... haha.
