Ebay fiasco/dispute

I cannot believe the nightmare this seller put me through on a Sunday!
I bought a set of lights for a coworker, we found a better deal and I asked the seller to cancel which they did. Refunded my payment. Cool.
THey then put an unpaid item dispute on me. I wrote twice and no response. THey threatened an unpaid item strike if I didn't pay by 22jan08. I responded again today asking what I can do to resolve it cause I thought they just got the cancellation mixed up. Finally, they explained that I need to pay the $5 listing fee! I paid it immediatly but I also complained to them that it was not clear and I would have paid much sooner if they had communicated the problem better. They responded by putting the strike on me today and closed the dispute after I sent the paypal transfer! Geez! I immediatly filed an appeal and Ebay removed the strike. All within 3-4 hours! Pretty impressive. But I still can't believe they would be so crazy! Anyway, anyone surfing Ebay for these types of items be warned about this seller.
 
Man, it does seem to be getting worse. It's supposed to be a level playing field, and thankfully the Ebay police came through for me. It really irked me that some ebay store with a gazillion feedback could be so arrogant. Losers.
 
Looks like they are pretty much into high-turnover numbers by their feedback ratings. Sellers like that are great if everything goes like clock-work, but if there are any bumps in the road, they will screw up. They've had 10 negative feedbacks in the last month... but that gets lost in their high positive ratings when they clock over 800 positives in the same time frame. I am a frequent ebay user, but try to always stay away from those types of sellers. Glad it all worked out for ya in the end,

I agree and normally I would never buy from one of these places. Was getting headlights for a coworker and that was the only set he liked. So did the deal. THat evening he went to pick up a hood and fender for a different car and the guy had a set of brand new Ford headlights still in the box covered in dust. OEM stuff. So that is what started the fiasco of trying to cancel the order.
 
i had the same type of problem with big d mustangs... (ill drop names when the situation merits!) bought a set of 620's with the perches, when the springs arrived, no spring perches! after numerous emails, threats, etc, i got them to send me a set of perches, if i paid shipping! bottom line, look at the feedback, if the number is high, and the satisfaction rating is, like 95%, figure they have screwed 1 in 20 customers!

I've been screwed several times on e-bay. But I have also had many more good experiences there also. I do believe e-bay will not stand up for you in some instances. In your case, you agreed to purchase the lights. You're friend should have went through with the e-bay deal and just had them for spares. It never fails, when you do favors for people something ends up biting you in the arse.
