eBay smoked headlight moisture

Was just a matter of time I guess. Came out after a good rain and now one of my headlights is full of moisture.

Passenger side is eBay, driver side is Ford OEM. The Ford OEM is perfect. The eBay has moisture.

I'll be replacing the headlight this christmas. But I gotta admit, driving around with this annoys me. lol

Beware about buying ebay headlights! Stick with Ford parts!

Do the ebay ones have a little vent deal on them? I can't remember if my stock headlights do or not but on my truck, they have a little decandescent thing and a rubber tube about 1in. long so that water can evaporate out.

do what im gunna do with my smoked clear corner lights that im swapping onto my gt:

take it off, run a hair dryer through it to dry it out...seal it up with calk/silicone

I sealed my cheap headlights and they are just like the day i bought them (2 yrs old), thanks to the sealant. I used a clear silicone that's in a tube. If you want it to look perfect, put masking tape around where the headlight meets the housing. Leave the two separate pieces of tape about 1/4" apart so the bead will be about 1/4" all the way around. If you don't use tape, it would be half-assing it and it won't look good.

I'll try the hair drier method when I get home. I just figured the water marks would be stuck on the housing and I won't be able to clean it.

Another method to dry them out if the hairdryer doesn't work is to bake them in the oven @ 250F for like 5 mins. Be sure to place them on a cookie sheet, and not the rack.

Once out of the oven press the rubber seams against the plastic housing. This helps re-seal the glue from the factory. Then get some silicone sealant and caulk the fauk out of it!

u can take the assembly apart and clean up the lense inside i guess...
