So your saying that if you have to have a power adder, than your car is not worthy of being called fast. Sux for all these supercharged souls on this board...........what about the new cobras....Power adding is just the norm as doing a H/C/I. It's just what you want!

no see the power added cars on this board, people are just going for insane amounts of power...their cars are quite fast to begin with...stangs are quick compared to most things on the road stock...so no they don't need a power adder to be fast..but pull off the turbo from things like the eclipse and all you're really gonna have is a ricer...I slap a turbo on my car and bam....no eclipse in the right mind would race..I has nothing against power adders I am just saying a car shouldn't need one to be fast....I must be terrible at comminucating or something cause what I say is commonly misunderstood..sorry all

It's apples and oranges to compare. I just feel as an owner of both import and domestic that it doesn't matter the maker, but if it's fast or not. We buy mustangs, usually just plain gt's, because like me i can't afford a cobra or supercharged saleen that are fast from the factory and we put hard earned money abd time to make them faster then the z28's. To me it's a challange. It's no different for people with imports. Same story. It comes down to people who love fast cars.....I think i beat this topic to death...i'll step down from my soap box now

So you think he will be running low 13's high 12's? I would think thats where you would be with a turbo/intercooler and your current mods.......even at 8-10 of boost

I think with a good launch from him then 12's will be possible....he is adding a down pipe and a buch of other stuff but AWD launches are just crazy...now if i was runing 8-10psi and slicks out back i know for sure he would win becuase i would brake my transmission.

i totally disagree with 302 racer i think his name is not for sure tho. anyways not relevant but yea slap a turbo on your mustang and come race my cousin he has a 91 eagle talon that runs an 11.2, dont get me wrong im not saying i love imports or anything im mustang for life, BUT alot of you mustang owners are to bullheaded to think anything else can be fast, or maybe thats the wrong way to put it, YOU cant respect anything else that is fast unless its domestic, im not trying to start a argument but you guys really need to be more open minded , thats my opiinion anyways. topless you are right

Both 5.0 Mustangs and turbo Talons/Eclipses can be made to go fast for not a lot of money. HERE is the difference: lets's say you have a 5.0 that runs 12.5 and an Eclipse/Talon that runs 12.5. I'd much rather have the Mustang because it SOUNDS infinitely better, it won't BREAK as often, and it will be much CHEAPER to fix something if it does break.

Anyone who says otherwise is in denial or a clueless retard. OK, well the exhaust note thing might be a personal preference, but I've had several import guys tell me that they'd love for their cars to sound like a V8 if it was possible.

Another case of someone completely misunderstanding me...wow ...I never said that a turbo eclipse can't be fast...any car on earth can be made fast if the person knows what they are doing...I mean please people I am not an idiot...I was simply implying that ultimately, if the owner really wanted to freak out...the mustang has more potential because it will take less boost and various other things that are hard on an engine to produce equal power between these two cars... as everyone else has been saying, for equal power to be produced out of these cars with little engines more boost will ultimately be required and more boost is dificult for those little engines to handle...thus the reason why some of the people even those responding to this very thread that have had these said that they don't last too long....
