I didnt see where anyone talked about the eco boost on here. Im using my phone so i may have missed it.
What are everyones thoughts on them? Im lookin at 2017 with 20k miles.
What basic mods are you doing with them, im guessing a intercooler, cold air, blow off, exhaust wether be cat back or axle back. Also the car in looking at is a 6speed, how are those compared to the 10 speed auto. Thanks

I am back after several years with no Mustang. My '07 GT/CS 'Vert in my profile picture was sold after I got to 150k miles.

Recently had a need for a new daily driver and got an opportunity to grab a '16 Ecoboost Premium Ragtop for a deal.
I am impressed! It is probably faster than the GT/CS was, even with 4 cylinders. From what I am learning, the upgrade path is a tune, colder plugs, better IC, exhaust and a few other things. With gas prices going up (and not going to level off any time soon with the White House's aim to destroy fossil fuels) I am very happy to have a decent sports car that gets 27 MPG!

And make no mistake. With the EB, the Mustang has become not so much a "Muscle Car" as a real "Sports Car" with more than just straight-line perfomance!

Technologically, there is no comparison. The new pony has heated AND cooled leather (old one only heat) and fantastic audio. Much more comfortable seats, ergonomics are better. Paddle shifters on my 6-speed Auto are also fun as hell!

Oh, and the top raises and lowers easily and in about 10 seconds, compared to half a minute on the '07.

The main reason the top raises and lowers so fast is it's electric and uses basically power window motors. Don't know what the old S-197's used but if it was that slow, I suspect it was hydraulic like the old school verts from the 60's.

Yes, my S197 'Vert was hydraulic. I know because I had to add fluid several times. Had to remove rear seats to do it!
