Guys I need some here. I am not sure if mine has a baffle or not and to be honest with you I dont evn know what it would look like if I did. I know this thing never had a screen and when I installed it all that I seen was a little ledge that the screen sits on below where the PCV valve goes. I just know that I put a seperator in last night and within 1 mile the thing was full of oil. That just seems like I am pulling a crap load of oil. I also have a high volume oil pump on the car not sure if that would cause this or not.

not sure exactly what your question is or what your looking for, but i can tell you this its not suppose to pull that much oil and a high flow oil pump (to my knowledge) will not push that much oil through the pcv on the back of the intake. the only thing i can thnk off is you have to much oil in the motor i know the only way its suppose to pick up any oil is from the lifters splashing it. that just seems like alot of oil in a mile

Yes I agree and I have 4 quarts of oil and 1 quart of lucas oil stabilizer in there. I am just curious about thisbaffle thing. How do I know if I have one or not. Is is it something I can see if I pull the sreen and pcv valve out? Whats it even look like. I know if I pull the screen and PCV out I can drop a screw driver all the way down in the hole until the handle hits. I'd say like 3-4 inches. If it doesn't have a baffle could it then pull oil like that out.

The screw driver should not go in that far. and because the baffle is not there oil is going to be in direct line of the pcv valve. the baffle just inverts the oil but does not totaly stop it. i will get you a picture when i get home but because the baffle is not there you are gonna pull alot of oil. did you take it off?

No I did not. If its not there then the guys that owned the car before me did. I wonder if its really not there if I cant get one from Edelbrock? If I look down in the hole for the pcv valve theres a little metal lip that the screen I put in is sitting on and its wide open below that.

not sure about edelbrock but trick flow sells the baffles for there intakes through summit. and you could make your own if you really wanted to. its nothing but a thin piece of bent sheet metal, and could easily be attached.

My performer a couple years ago came with it on there.

It shouldn't be 'wide open' if I recall. I think I recall it sitting across the pcv valve hole entirely leaving a gap away from the hole.

Yeah put grommet in, install screen, and then pcv valve on top.

I just bought a brand new performer intake this winter and the baffle was not installed but it was supposed to be in the hardware bag. It was all new in the box but the baffle was missing. I called Edelbrock direct and they sent me a new one free of charge. I noticed the baffle from Edelbrock is the exact same as the one on the stock 5.0 HO manifolds.
