I thought I would ask you guys what you thought about the new edelbrock e-force supercharger for are stangs. Im looking at ordering one off of jegs, but I wanted some input from you guys. The main question is would I be better off with the E-force or with a Saleen charger from Brenspeed?

I know most people will say the saleen but would the edelbrock be better if im only looking at 450 or 500 hp. The price difference between the edelbrock and a brenspeed stage 2 saleen is only about 500 bucks. All input would be great.

Edlebrock obviously has produced great products for decades. However, in this case the Saleen already has the proven track record. This new Edlebrock blower has yet been proven reliable over time.

Tough call.

The only numbers I've seen for the E-Force showed it's power at a measly 380 rwhp.

I was looking at the Saleen but i actually am going to go with Roush....
Its a nice bolt of horsepower and also if u get the 445hp kit and is installed by FORD they back it and doesnt void the 3 year 36k warranty if your car is still new!!
that is the ONLY super charger in the business right now that DOES NOT void new car
warranty
Which shows you how much confidence Ford has in Roush if they back it with their warranty

Well than in his case it'd be brilliant because his car is faster than a "Roushcharged" car.

First off, a TVS is NOT a Roushcharger. Secondly, no one was talking about a complete new motor. I thought we were talking about bolt on superchargers. Thirdly, no dealership is going to install someone else's motor and warranty it. 9 posts and already spouting off at the mouth, this should be fun.

On stock internals? I might have gone that way myself if it had been out at the time.

For 12 grand I'm pretty damn sure I can make an engine a hell of a lot more powerful than that one, and it wouldn't have a roushcharger on it.

Why is 380 rwhp measly? In a stick shift S197 GT, that's about 450 flywheel hp (60 more than the supercharged 03/04 SVT Cobras).

And my 07 GT makes just 351 rwhp (in a heavy, well-equipped automatic coupe), yet runs 7.90's @ 90+ in the 1/8 mile and 12.30's @ 111+ in the 1/4 mile.

It's a great kit but than again so is the Whipple. I think Whipple kind of hurt their sales by raising their prices.

Because if I'm going to be spending that kind of money I could get more for my money with something else. I didn't mean that 380 rwhp isn't a lot of power. I meant that it's not a lot of power for the money you're investing compared to what's out there.
