Hi all,
I have just started to take a closer look at the edelbrock. It seems like a great system. JDM is getting some good numbers and it seems that I can get the power I need and let it grow with my car later?
If I could put a mammoth kb on my car, I would go with that, but I can't with a stock engine. It seems that the jdm set up will give me what I want and I can still use it for more power if I build the engine later.
What do you think? If there was a better price, ease of installation, etc it would be an easy choice.
I am starting to lean towards the e-force,
thanks,
Doc

JDM has done fantastic things with the Roush TVS 2300. They put them on stock motors with a mild tune and get around 500 RWHP and I think they are the best looking setup.

The edelbrock is nifty but it has a relatively narrow application and power capability due to only accepting the edelbrock single round throttle body.

I recently read on another forum a guy putting a 2.8H on a stock block. Not the most efficient setup for power, but he wanted to be able to go forged and high boost in the future but wanted the joy of boost now.

I think the setup netted him about 450 rwhp and a good path to massive boost later. I wish I'd done that.

KB makes a great kit

I've got a 2.6l intercooled KB kit on my '05. It's a very high quality kit with clear, detailed instructions. The car makes great power - 463 rwhp (about 530 at the flywheel) with a 91 octane tune and the standard pulley. With any more power I'd need to upgrade the clutch and drive shaft, and to go even higher I'd need to replace engine components. The supercharger is capable of up to 675 hp with smaller pulley and more aggressive tune.

The system, and car in general, have been perfectly reliable despite my heavy right foot. I can't say enough about the quality and performance of KB's system, and the knowledge of their tech staff.

I'm sure that the Edlebrock kit is also good, but how long has it been out? KB's has been extensively tested by many enthusiasts.

Shelby relies on Mammoth power for the Super Snake. That unit's capable of crazy power.

I don't work for KB, I'm just a happy customer. If it was my ride and $$$, I'd go with the Mammoth kit, have it tuned and pulleyed for the stock engine, and have built-in expandability with just pulley and tune later.

Good luck!

I was told by kb that I couldn't put the mammoth on my mustang. This was my first thought. Everyone I have talked to said that most people get a new blower with more power...later on. I am trying not to make a 6k mistake. I am putting the car away as soon as the snow flies, so I have time to think about this. I have not had great response from KB, and I'm hearing great stuff about the edelbrock. Look at what JDM has done with the edelbrock.
Thanks for your input!
