Hello and please help.
1996 V-6 auto.
Recently I had a rebuilt engine installed. a few months later the car dies while driving,.. actually it was snowing ,I have two kids that wanted dad to do a douoghnut in the snow,.. I did,.. smelled burnt wires then a few blocks later it dies. checking the engine compartment fuse block, I found the fuse for eec is blown. Changed the fuse and it blows imediately when the key is turned on. But,.. not knowing much at all about computers in cars,... I do not know where to go from here.

Check the component for any type of short or in the case of a motor any kind of obstruction which would hamper movement. Then check from the component to the fuse, following the wires looking for any sign of a short... easier said than done of course. Not a sure fire way, but hopefully you'll get lucky and it'll be something simple or obvious.

I think it is near the passenger's side kick panel. Should be able to find out for sure by googling it.
