EFI install, progress made

I bolted the intake in place this week and have connected nearly all of the electrical components. I will install the supply and return fuel lines this week I hope, after I have installed the fuel pump and filter. There are a few pictures here,

That is a real show stopper!

OK now for the question:

How much room do you have between the air cleaner lid and the MAF?
Is that the low profile throttle body?
Is that a bolt on hood scoop, and if so, do you have a picture from the underside of the hood showing the cutout?
Any way to compare numbers when you are done with the Mas-Flo?

Just checking out your web site makes me want to completely strip my car. The underneath is as stunning as the top side.
Wow! Better stock up on throw away bibs, to keep everone from drooling all over it.

I have not measured the distance but will try and do so.

Yes, that is the low profile throttle body.

Bolt on scoop, no cut out, thought about it, but just couldn't do it.

I had dyno numbers at the flywheel for the engine with the Air Gap and carb, but I've also just replaced the XE266HR cam with a XE274HR cam, so any comparison just won't be worth anything. Those numbers were 410HP at 4800 and 430 # at 4100. I didn't install this kit specifically for a HP increase, but any increase would be a side benefit. I get more satisfaction from doing the work than driving the car. Spending an afternoon putting this together relaxes me like nothing else can. My wife never asks about the cost, she knows where I am, and even better she allows me the time without the hassle.

Thanks for the compliments, I entered two shows last summer and earned two first place finishes. I am hoping to have it back on the road before April 23, a big show is on in my area that day.

EFI is so nice

Just the drivability, the lack of gas smell, the clean exhaust and the overall durability is really great.
If you get ambitous and put up some fuel plumbing pictures, let us know.
Keep up the great relaxation therapy.

I was looking through your site. Nice job!

Why did you choose a Gear Vendors over/underdrive instead of just a standard OD transmission? I have always thought the GV units were a neat idea but hard for me to justify the price compared to a complete transmission.

Back on topic, do you have any pictures of how the EEC bracket is mounted? I have a 68 and I would like to make a similar bracket. DO these pictures show where it would be?






The last ones show my cardboard template. Please excuse the light rust it has been too cold to paint under there for a few months now.

I have JetCoated TriY headers on the car now, no way they would fit with the AOD. So, once I added up the cost of new JetCoated headers, an AOD that would take the 430# torque, and then the rest of the parts required for the AOD, the GV was almost the same cost, if not less. Besides if I play with the controls for the GV, I can have a 6 speed trans not just an overdrive. It can split each great not just the top gear.

That is exactly where I located it in my car. To make assembly easier, I used clip nuts of the firewall side flange, and found that one of the holes already in the firewall that help a wire loom clip in place could be used as a mounting screw hole. This made it very easy to mount correctly. You could do the same thing on the left side, where your punch is holding it in place. Just make your bracket a little lower on that side. By the way, I do not have a sheet metal brake, so I took my bracket once it was cut to size to a body shop. The guy there was more than happy to use their brake to bend the bracket for me. It sure made the bends nice and neat.
