I have an '89 Mustang GT:
5-Speed Tremec TKO
3.73 gears
302 Block (stock bottom end)
ported E-7 Heads
Ported Cobra intake
BBK 75mm Throttle body
75mm mass air flow meter
24lb injectors
Crane cam
And proabably more stuff I cant think of now...
I am "Old Skool", all my previous race cars have been carburated and yes Chevy's...I have been out of the drag racing scene for about 5 years. Last year I started looking for a project and being in California pretty much all the "classic" cars that make good runners are over priced and hard to come by. I found this '89 and bought it. I have dumped alot of money it seems to the area of air/fuel delivery to the motor, and all I have gotten is a big headache. It seems nothing want to work right, either somethings too big or too small, too old,etc.. I have taken it to several race shops and had everything programmed and it seems that evrything works awesome for a while the it all go to crap. The car has never been consistent, it will run low 11's one time and then the next trip to the track it runs mid 12's... I am sick and tried of dumping money here and there with no results.
My question is.....
What do I need other than a carburator, manifold, and fuel pressure regulator to convert this Pony to a carb? I am DONE messing with this EFI junk, all that junk is going on ebay soon. Please help me!!!!!!!I think I need a special regulator also to lower the fuel pressure from 35 psi or so down to 5-6.Thanks in advance

why would you want to do that? ruin a good EFI car.. may not run completely straight as a arrow.. but your better off buying a 85 and down thats stock carb.. you would get more for the car u have now than you would pay for a 85 so you could use the excess to pay for extra parts
