EGR Bung Cap

Hey guys,

I tried the search but it really sucks since it says nothing comes up for EGR, so anyways, my EGR pipe that I recently made broke on me and now I obviously have a huge exhaust leak. I wanted to block off both the flare on the header and the one on the EGR valve. I saw that 5/8th was the right size but the threading is a different pattern. I do not want to buy a wazee cap since it would be too much and I want to get the car on the road.

I just wanted to see what worked for you guys.

I saw some guys say to put the penny on the inside of the old nut on the EGR tube and seal it shut. From doing research for that to work you would have to use a penny from before 1982 when they were still mostly copper.

Thanks,

Dan

i just took the cap off and put a penny under it and tightened it back down. it was a 1994 penny actually :D and it worked fine.

as far as the intake side, get yourself a 351w fuel block off plate. fits in there perfectly and bye bye egr.

Just use a 5/8th cap from home depot. The thread may be wrong but the cap I got was brass so it still threaded on fine. (Brass is pretty soft!)

The intake side like mentioned is a 351C fuel pump block off plate.

I used the penny.. Worked great!!!!!

A compnay sells them once in a wile on Ebay. I have two on my car. They're not up right now, but keep checking. He made them in both steel and aluminum at one point. (Steel was to plug the exhaust.) They have the correct metric thread.

If you search the completed listings you should be able to find them and contact him directly. I think they were like $15.
