has anyone here deleted the egr or not hooked up the pipe that runs to the exhaust and not had any problems. just finished putting the top end together and the egr pipe is sitting in the middle of the new valve covers. was wondering if i put a cap over it and not have the exhaust pipe running to it how would it run or could i delet it all together, i am going to get a custom chip made for it was just wondering if it would run okay for me to break the motor in before i get to the dyno and start to leaning on the new parts

I removed my EGR. I put a cap on the hedder and on my x-pipe where it runs back up to the engine. If you remove the smog pump you will need a shorter belt. you also need to put a cover over the TB side hole where it runs down to the hedder. I never noticed a HP difference after I did this but it does clear up some space in the engine bay. I have had the EGR off for about a year now and havent had any problems... It took me a while to find a cap for the hedder though. Also, for the electical part, there is a rod that needs to be pushed in half way so that the CE light does not come on.... This probabaly doesnt make all that much cents but hopefully it helped you some. PM me if you have any questions.
