Happy Holidays!

Just a real quick one. I need a new EGR gasket for the '94. I haven't yet found one locally that fits. In the ones I've seen, the bolt holes are too far apart.

Does anyone have a part number or place/source? I'd rather not pay an arm and a leg or go mail order if I can help it..............

Thanks!

Paul, no such animals here.

The parts stores here have a Felpro but it doesn't fit correctly.

I haven't been able to find a ROL locally to check its dimensions.

Thank you for the reply!

i had a similar problem ... the holes in the gasket were not far enough apart, so i elongated them and got it to fit. the center part of the gasket lined up ok though.

my ford service cd lists the gasket part number as 9D476

i wish i had this cd back when i was looking for this gasket

Thanks for the replies fellas.

A decent EGR gasket is fiber over metal. Not something I can make.

Yet another time where (atleast so far) we (94-95 folk) get hosed with incorrect parts listings.

It's not a super huge deal. I just wanted to touch base with you guys who see different brands in your region.

EDIT: I just looked at LRS's EGR gasket offering.

LRS link.

Note the bottom bolt hole.

On mine I had to hog out both holes, but otherwise, same idea.

hmm, is there a way to check to make sure it's the proper one? i don't have my egr stuff anymore, but if there is a way other than checking it w/ my old valve, i'll stop by and pick one up for you, then send it off your way. lemme know, mang.

Paul, thank you for the kind offer. I still have my OEM gasket (fits like a glove) for measurements. It's really probably not worth your time to check into this stuff. I really thought I was missing the ball and not going to the correct store or asking for the correct brand (which might be the case still).

I do really appreciate the effort you were willing to make though mang!

Guero, I have a little thing called emissions to pass.

I looked on Rock-Auto and got a part number:

FEL-PRO Part # 70020 (It also came up for a '93)

Have you looked into that? The picture did not show a square bottom hole, but everything else looked like the LRS pic you gave us.

It is probably not it, but I tried

Thanks David.
That's what the parts stores are calling for too (and what I'm using now). It's too big (on my car anyhow - all stock intake and EGR AFAIK). The gasket actually goes outside the mating surfaces (kinda goofy looking).

I'm going to get another Felpro gasket so I can do a cleaner Dremeling. I'll try to take a pic of my OEM gasket on top of the Felpro (just for future reference if someone comes across this thread).

I have the feeling that this is a common issue and how the stampings are for aftermarket gaskets for us. That's why the LRS one has the hogged out hole (if not, theirs should be perfect like my old one was).

Thanks again.

What about making a gasket out of thin aluminum? That way the two sides (of steel) will compress the softer aluminum and make a gasket......

I am using the copper high-temp gasket maker from Permatex and it's holding up fine so far, FYI.
