Hey guys....

I'm new to the site....Have a 94 cobra and pulling an egr code...The egr holds vacuum when tested...I've reset computer, but code still there...Had O/R x-pipe but put stocker on for smog test....Can the O/R x-pipe destroy my egr? Any ideas?

PS..Awesome idea to have a site designated for us SN95 owners :nice:

Thanks!

Exhaust will not affect the EGR.

Which EGR code are you getting. That will help. You can try to clean out the EGR, that might do it (remove, it, spray carb cleaner inside the 2 holes, reinstall).

If you're getting "egr not opening/closing" then it's one of 2 things:

1.) EGR valve has physicaly failed (but you say it does holds a vacuum)
2.) EGR valve solenoid has failed - this is what actually lets vacuum pass through the lines to open and close the valve on the EGR.

Anyone...please correct me if I'm wrong.

it must be the valve solenoid then cuz I cleaned that thing out good with carb cleaner and it didnt help...and like I said, I had it tested and it held vacuum.

thanks
