EGR, to block off, or not to block off, that is the question

Well, the "big project" for my car has begun. I'm in the process of pulling the motor, hiding wires, and just cleaning up the engine bay. I already removed the smog pump and related crap which leads me to the EGR. Do I leave it intact or toss it out. What are the pros/cons to it. This is gonna be an everyday driver. Lets hear some input

block off, i had a guy make me a nice plate and RTV'd it up and screwed it in. I gotta find something to block off the header though

Toss it... do a search for a thread about what you have to do when you remove the EGR. Theres a pin on one of the sensors that has to be held down or else you'll get a CE light.

Just block it off. A 351 cleveland fuel pump block off plate works perfect. Its the exact same size and usually chrome plated. About 7 bucks from a local speed shop.

Then just use a fitting from homedepot for the header. I got mine in the lawn/garden section.

What about reliability? I've considered it myself, but I use my stang as a daily driver in the summer(100+ miles a day) and was concerned with reliability and drivability after the removal of the air pump and EGR. Any major concerns?

A lot of people on here have their EGR removed and without any problems. I just removed mine today, used electrical tape and taped 1/2 up the pluger, and rapped another piece of tape around it to hold it down... Kinda rigged but I don't get a CE light
