egr tube?

So that's what the little plunger looks like. Yeah I plan to delete mine for 3 reasons only.

1. I can usually get a better deal on headers without the bung.

2. I can get rid of that ugly rusty thing under my hood.

3. I can change my spark plugs even easier.

haha yea i agree with all those reasons...

But just for kicks, how hard is it to go back. I live in Michigan with no emission laws, but if i move in a couple years to somewhere that does, how hard is it to put emission stuff back on? Or can a reallly good tune pass emissions without it?

Thanks for the great explanation!

Havent heard about it advancing your timing...mustangless above stated that it can cause increased combustion temps...which could lead to detonation..but if your not sure about your timing then just take your SPOUT out and check your base to make sure. Sure be 10* for stock.
my timming is at 10* but from what i was reading my computer will set my timming upto 20* of timming at WOT with the gasses not running through the egr without a burned chip. I'll have to find where this was but thats a lot of timming!!!

what you read was untrue. egr does not affect where the computer sets the timing. also, timing is not that simple. on a stock cobra at high load (wot) and base timing of 10 degrees, the computer will set the total timing to 21 deg at 1500, up to 22 at 2000, up to 23 at 4000, and up to 26 at 5000. this is not really a lot of timing. on my tweecer tune, i see 32 degrees total timing at 5000. many people will even set their timing higher than that, but i didn't see any increase power on the dyno w/higher timing.

all good reasons. it sure is easy to change plugs w/o emissions lines!
