I got an EGR related trouble code (code 33 – EGR opening not detected) so I tested my EGR system this weekend and found out my EVR (EGR Valve Regulator) is bad. It’s not applying the right amount of vacuum to the EGR valve at the right time.
The bad news is that the EVR is INSIDE the right-front fender well.
Has anybody replaced their EVR before? I’m guessing that you have to take the right front wheel off and then somehow remove the inner fender liner. Does the entire fender liner come off or just part of it? What type of fasteners hold it on? Easy to do, or hard to do?
Any advice on the procedure or problems you ran into would be appreciated.
