Eibach prokit/sportline

I was looking at purchasing the Eibach Prokit but I just saw a picture with the sportline package and i think it looks much better. What would you guys recommend? How much do you think it would cost for installation? I'm leaning towards the prokit now after reading this-

The Sportline spring series are made for extreme driving, lowering the car 2.1". We do NOT recommend these springs for normal use, but for show or race purposes, this kit will do the trick.

You MUST use a firm shock with these springs; stock shocks WILL blow out in short order.

WOW dude,
Let me tell you I have the H&R's and That's 1.75" -1.87 lower then stock!
And I have to be carful where and How I drive If your thinking of going 2+" lower I would invite you to Take a drive in my for a day but Since that aint going to happen
No Really 2+" is too low for a daily driver and If you have a X-pipe that sticks down like Mine your going to end up with sparks EVERYWHERE!!

I have sportlines and I have no problems what so ever. Get some cc plates to go with them. Prokit for me was not low enough. My car is a daily driver and the shocks are still good after a year but i should change them. But you will have to change them sooner or later with any spring you get!!!!

oh yeh i paid 200 for springs to be installed and 50 for the cc plates......

a 2+ inch drop will make the car sit really low...watch for bumps and dont even try any kind of speedbump

Get the sportlines. I think I waisted my money on the pro-kit! It wasnt an even drop, the front is still way to high! sportlines look pretty good. Why not just get H&R ss they look awesome!

if you plan on or already have long tube headers , dont do the sport lines , i have the prokit with full lengths and a blower , the added weight will bring the front end down considerably more

I go over speed bumps all the time and never hit. Just can't go over them real fast!!

sportlines look perfect. i had them on my 96 the only part that ever hit was over speedbumps the hpipe scratched because the clamp in the middle was upside down and the bolts pointed down. i was just too lazy to flip it around. you wont have any problems. oh and i had them on w/ stock shocks for about 20k miles no problems. and honestly switching to kybs made it worse. my 96gt only had less than 20k on it though when installed so maybe the shocks were in better shape than those that would have say 80k on them. but who knows, i think youll be fine.

Springs are personal choice so get what you want, but consider this, too:
1) Generally a drop greater than 1.5" will also require the installation of cc plates
2) Consider how the car will ride in your decision -- Sportlines are a much firmer fixed-rate spring, compared to the progressive-rate Pro Kit

You can install them yourself in about 2 hours, its not that hard AT all. My brother and I installed mine in my garage in 2 hours with no power tools. I got my sportlines brand new from CJ pony parts off ebay for $185 shipped.

If you care about good handling, get the prokit. Sportlines dont allow enough suspension travel at high speeds, although they look better. The trick is to keep the wheels on the ground!

yea i've decided to get the prokit. I think it would be more practical and it will still be a nice improvement over stock.

I got the pro-kit and love it. Although at first I was disspapointed, seems like it takes 2 weeks or so for these springs to settle. Ive been on stock shocks & CCs for 20 miles now with no problems. Just make sure with any spring install that you point the pigtails in the direction the instructions tell you, or the car wont sit even.

Sportline is the way to go! I am getting the prokit because i have a body kit on my car and if i drop my car 2 inches it will be sitting on the ground. The prokit i going to cover up my fenderwell nicely, but if i didn't have the kit i would go with the sportline for sure. THe drop looks so sweet, but with that much of a drop you have to ket a camber kit. Sportlines on ebay are $200, but you might can find them on there cheaper than that.

-I have the prokit springs with the Xenon splitter AND a Bassani-X (w/cats) & I have to be EXTREMELY careful because of the way the Xenon splitter sticks out in the front & because of how low the catts are on my "X"... If I woulda went sportlines, I probably woulda changed em'.... Now, without a body kit... or a kit that doesnt sit that low in the front... Sportlines or HR's definitely.....
