I ordered the eibach pro kit for my 96 GT convertible. I was going to install them with the stock struts and shocks, but with new bushings. Would this be alright, or should I wait and buy new struts and shocks before putting the springs on, which could be a little while until I get up the money.

I did just springs last summer and im going to do my shocks/struts tomorrow. I almost wish i would have gotten them altogether but its no big deal. If i were to do it again i would do it all at once

How many miles are on your struts shocks? it will make a BIG difference on how it rides and drives. If they are fairly new then you will be ok, for now that is. If they are old, u will hate it as every bump will feel like a mountain.

If you want to stay on the cheap side u can put fox struts/shocks in and they work great with lowered cars. I have fox struts in the mine and it rides great.

The car is a 96 and it has 65K on it right now. As far as I know, the shocks and struts are the original ones the car came with.

65K on a '96? That's great! I have 78K on my '98.

If you aren't planning on waiting forever to get your struts and shocks I would say, "Go for it and put on the springs". It's not so much the ride quality that will suffer in the beginning as the fact that the stock struts and shocks are going to wear out fairly fast. Just be ready to spend the money on the struts and shocks before too long. And if the ride sucks right away, go back to stock springs till you can afford your struts and shocks. Spring install is not a major chore.

My dad has always kept it in the garage as a 3rd car from when it was new in 96. I don't think the car has ever been out in the rain. But anyway, he ordered a new 2010 GT convertible a couple of weeks ago and asked if I wanted this one. Thanks for the help.

Since it is a 96 you should go ahead and replace the shocks and struts
at the same time even if you need to wait a while longer to save some $.

+1 my fox struts are sitting in my room, along with new balljoints, inner tierods, and the UPR bumpsteer kit is on the way
