How bad did you have to manipulate that upper nose section?

Not too bad. But the whole project has given me a new found talent with a dremel tool.

Just noticed this thread was brought back up.
No I'm just about done though. Having brackets welded up to the upper grill slowed me down some. Stil fighting the headlights too. Guess I'll have to cut out a section in the fenders (behind the headlight buckets) so I can replace the bulbs from the rear. Guess I'll have to notch the edges of the headlight opening to adjust the headlights too. Still working on an alternative. It's just about done. Kinda taking my time now since the paint job will be in Feb - March '04. My AOD is just about ready though !

No I wish it were that easy for everyone's sake. These rims are / were discontinued by Edelbrock. Mustangdepot does have the 17in. GT-40's used on the original Eleanor though. Much more expensive unfoutunately.

I'll post up some new / better pics when I get her driveable and out of the garage.

Rather than go to all the trouble to keep the big headlights, why not just switch to the smaller, Shelby-style lights?

Mainly b/c now I'm really liking these. The city lights are pretty neat after all. These pics don't do them justice -

I think you can use back up lamp lenses in the upper next to the headlights and use amber bulbs. It will give it more of an aftermarket light look...

If I'm not mistaken, the 65-66 bu lenses are 2.5" and the 67-68 are 2.75"

The 65-66 ones are on the E2 front p lamps with amber bulbs

Thanks for the tip I just checked, and it looks like it would work. Have to give it a try to see how much I like it that way. I'm pretty sure my bu lenses will fit my pk lights.

Me too.
Just found a pic of my car in it's original form taken in 1987.
Some I'm sure will like it better original. Wish I could have both now(as is now, and as it was). This does look good.
