Electic fan suggestions!!!!

I drove my car for 15 minutes after they dyno tuned. When I hit down town traffic the tem. got real high around 250. I have an electic fan that cost me around 60 dollars. i was hoping that this fan would make the job, but i was wrong. I already have the aluminum radiator, what kind of fan should i put in my car since i have the SC and the space is very limited, any suggestions. thanks...

dude, did you not read my replies in your other thread? the black magic is a great fan-i've got one, it works like a champ, and I've also heard that a MKVIII fan works pretty well too

Are you sure the fan is coming on?

Spal makes some nice thin fans.

Best choices are Ramcharger or a fan from a Mark VIII. With your SC belt taking up some of the space, the Ramcharger may be the best choice. Do not even consider anything with less than 3,000 CFM of air flow. The Mark VIII move 4000-4500 CFM.

I am using a Mark on on mine, and even with the 4000 RPM stall I had, I never saw more than 185f water temp.

i have the knock-off of the black magic fan (proform) and i can sit it trafic for hours with the temp never rising above 185 and this is on 105 deg. days, it works great for me and is nice and compact.

Sorry TXstang 84, I appreciate your input, i just want to hear different opinions. What vehicle year is the Mark VIII fan, and which of the two pulls more CFM the black magic or the MARK VIII.

I'm using a junkyard ford taurus 3.8 electric fan with a dcc controler on my S-Trim supercharged 347 Stroker. It's cool to hear it still run after I shut off my car. Either a Ramcharger, Used Mark VIII or Taurus/Sable 3.8 fan will do with a supercharger. But spend your money on the DCC controler and you'll never look back!!

The one in the pics is a buddies car we put it on. It is a blown 347.

But before getting a new fan, test the old one 1st and check for a colasping lower rad hose...

Flex a lite has a new fan that flows 3,300 cfm the extreme something or other. I'm planning to get one.

i saw that fan in the flex a lite site. i think that the part# is185 and is called the X-treme. I don't know if is going to clear with my SC setup but it looks nice.

i've got the griffin/proform setup.it works great for me.i've been running this combo for over 2 years now.only cost alittle over $300.

Last time I talked to him he said he had abotu 4 or 5 left. PM him on Corral...

I am in the middle of adding one to another blown 347. Right now it has a Black Majic and it can't keep up, while in cruisin. The shroud on the fans in the pics cover 95-99% of the rad fins. The one I am currently workin on is going onto an AFCO rad and covers all the fins and had to be trimmed. Even goes over on tank a little. Can get pics if you like... If so e-mail me and I will send you some.

i would try to see if i can contact the guy in the corral forums today, if not, i am going to the j/y tommorrow morning and i would try to see if i can find the Mark VIII or the taurus 3.8 fan. Do i need to buy the DCC controller if i am installing one of the two. thanks. I have an AFCo rad. too, can you post any pics.

thanks for the pics. any specific year for the Mark VII fan because the 93-96 spins slower than the 97-98, and do i have to get a DCC contoller. Thanks again you really help with this.

I bought a 18" fan kit from DCC. It's basically a Mark VIII fan. Work great.
