Electric fan options

So I'm looking at all the different electric fans out there and have done a few searches but am still unsure as to where to start.

I have a 302 with a serpentine setup.
I have not purchased an alternator yet so I can match an alternator with the fan.
I have a summit radiator. 22" wide and 19" tall
I am looking at different options and I realize I will need it thermostat controlled but am seeing there are different temperatures and options. I don't wanna break the bank here so am looking more at universal applications than specific.

Any light someone could shed on this topic would be great.

Are there any junkyard solutions that would be a direct bolt in as well?

The recognised best donors are from a Lincoln Mk.VIII or a 3.8 Taurus(3.0 not the same)

Looks like a nice kit. Prolly do very well.
I already have one of each Mk. VIII & 3.8 Taurus fans. A local shop has quoted $75 for making a shroud for my 19x24 Northern Radiator. It wont be a polished as the Summit version seems to be
Depends on wheather you want to buy a bolt on , or DIY.

I went ahead and purchased the kit with a painless relay and temp sensor. It is set to turn the fan on at 185 degrees. Is this correct?

Sounds like your on the right track, LUK.
The MK.VIII & 3.8 fans are two spdde, and I'll be setting my on-off temps at 200 & 185. EFI likes th high temp & doesnt get the engine temp too low.(not good)

The CFM for that fan is kinda low. The Taurus fan puts out double that cfm if not more.

Stay away from the black magic... in the 5.0 forums they are deemed the black tragic. The Taurus 3.8 fan with a dc controler would be ideal. As for an alt, Go with a 3g setup.

You should be good with that setup. If you have AC, a Taurus fan is the way to go.

It only has a 16Amp capacity, so it requires a HD relay.

The fan has two speeds and measures about 22-7/8" wide X 18-7/8" tall X 4-7/8 deep

go with the ford taurs fan... i got one out of the junk yard for 35 bucks...best money i have ever spent. i have bought a couple different types of aftermarket fans and they havent even came close to the tarus fan. my car now runs a the temp i want from 140-210. just to mess around with it i turned the adjustable thermo all the way down on a 105 degree day and my car wouldnt get over 150 at stop lights. it was a tight fit, but i also bought a huge aftermarket radiator.
