I am converting to a carb and I struggled with this a little as well. I thought about using an 85 pickup, but I didn't want to run a rubber hose in between the pump and tank and the factory lines are pretty small to begin with. So I bought a Granatelli pickup that had AN fittings, but it was junk. Crappy welds and the bottom of the pickup tube was cracked. I sent it back and decided to go big or go home! I didn't want to upgrade the fuel system later and this setup should be good for a lot of HP. Glenn's Performance sleeper tank with 12an fitting, 12an pre-pump filter, Aeromotive pump, 10an filter after the pump and 10an braided steel lines up to a Aeromotive regulator and Russell carb feed lines.

Granatelli pickup=dookie

New setup

I don't want to really spend a ton on this since I plan on converting to EFI down the road and this would all be useless to me then lol. I'm guessing I'll just be able to cap off the return portion of the fuel lines and then just put this pump inline on the supply side and call it good

Any reason you cant run a stock style mechanical pump? It will likely be more reliable and quieter than a holley blue.

You mean just like a factory replacement? I didn't even think of that lol. All I would have to do is swap the timing cover and cam drive stuff over to my new engine right?

Yep. Just swap the cover and the fuel pump eccentric over. Then it should hook up like factory. Should be quiet and reliable until you decide to go EFI.

You could also do a performance mechanical pump if you think the stocker won't flow enough. To me the holley blue is obnoxiously loud, and aggravating even over the sound of dumped flowmasters. I've been that route before and won't do it again if I can help it.
