I have a rear-mount battery with safety on/off switch through the license plate. The problem is, when I turn the power on to the car, the bright head lights come on and the interior dome light. I unplugged the light switch inside the car and they are still on. Is something grounded or not grounded, any help is appreciated.

You're going to need a Chilton or Hanes shop manual for the wiring diagrams.

The dimmer for the dash lights works the dome light.

The multifunction switch (the turn indicator & high beams switch on the steering column) controls the high beam headlights.

Look for something common to both circuits (other than the battery) that applies power to them.
