Ok I've blown 3 constant voltage regulators, the box looking thing on the back of the gauge cluster, in the past 2 days. I have a 65 that I put a 66 gauge cluster into so I could have the gauges instead of dummy lights. Anyway I went to put in a new fuel gauge, thought mine was broke. Wired it up and turned on the key to see if it worked and I blew the gauge fuse off to autozone for a fuse. Put it in checked wires, everything looked good, turn on key and fried the regulator. Had another one from my 65 cluster put it on and fried it and realized I had wired the fuel gauge wrong, wired it up accoreding to the manuel, checked everything to make sure the rest of the wireing was right and got a new regulator and plugged it up and it worked

On my way to the track tonight stopped for gas and filled up, fuel gauge still goes only half way ok something still not right but the rest of the gauges worked. Get to the track stop in at the local gas station for a pop and start the car back up, no gauges WTF!! Well I drove it an hour at high way speeds with it not even half way to hot so I ran it anyway with no problems but I completely stumped now. Can anybody help me out or do I have to rig something up so I'll have gauges?

when you changed the cluster did you also change the dash harness and the engine compartment harness ? been told that you have to change both when doing the conversion . but not sure since i have never actually performed the conversion .

I of course had to run new leads to the new senders but the gauge cluster had some wire on it so I could connect it. The fuel and speedo I didn't do anything two the other 3 I had to rewire.
