I need to make some LED's flicker to create a "fire" effect. This is for a background effect behind a stereo system.
Any ideas on how I can make that happen? Has to run 12 volt. I'm lost.

just a thought, but what if you just bought one of those neon lights with a controller that makes it light up to bass and modify it? i've seen them with the light for like $25...
is that what you're trying to do?
You can run them into your + and - of the speaker and it will flicker with the bass..
Like you have 2 poles on the LED run one into the + and one into the - everytime the bass hits depending on the loudness of it, it will light or "flicker"
