Electrical Isssue, Please Help!!

my son and his buddy changed head gaskets in his 92 fox, they have done this before and changed motors etc. htis time when they were done they have an electrical problem, everything is powered even with the key off , im talkin power windows, radio etc and none was powered with key off before this. i redid all connections to solenoid made everything same as ours still same issue, anybody have any suggestions??

I dont think there is anything in the engine compartment that would cause that.
It might just be one of those things where something just happens at the same time. i have an 1987 fox that pretty much had same issue there for awhile. mine ended up being the electrical part of the ignition switch. check that out and let me know if that solved it for you.

the ign switch was my next best guess but couldnt figure a tie in to what they worked on , im no electrical guy but i gotta fix this for them, im gonna try swappin the switch out thanks , any other ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks again

Starter solenoid wiring for 86-91 Mustang



Starter solenoid wiring 92-93 Mustang or earlier Mustang with upgraded high torque mini starter.




Ignition switch problems
Some of the symptoms of ignition switch problems are things that don’t work or are intermittent like radio, turn signals, wipers or heater.

There was a FREE recall on Ford ignition switches. They overheat and sometimes catch fire. That burns up the steering column and sometimes the car interior. Since this is very old information, you may not be able to get the switch replaced for free anymore. The auto parts stores sell the switches for $13-$15.
