electrical Issue

i got a problem folks. when i use my turn signals, my radio flashes. i have the power wire to the radio running staright to the battery, and i have tried a couple of places to hook up the acc. wire but to no avail. where can i hook the acc wire? what do you think causes the surging?

Most likely a ground missing. Had the same problem with my '66 and found a ground on the inst. cluster was loose. Tightened it and no more problems. As for the acc. can you use this (http://hammar.dyndns.org/~djhamma/wiring/wiring1965.htm) wiring schematic to go to the original location?

anymore ideas? i checked the inst. panel and had no luck

here is a reply my dad got on one of his forums...

Try running a jumper wire from the back of the voltage regulator directly to the negative battery post. The voltage regulator is only grounded by its attachment to the inner fender well. Corroded bolts, corroded fender well, paint are likely culprits for preventing a good ground. This solved all similar electrical problems (jittery amp meter, dimming lights and slowing of blower fan when slowing down, funky dash lights with turn signal, etc.) on my '72 Cougar.

i was going over the wireing diagram and i thought it could be a alternator problem (as far as mix matched locations). well i got to looking and i dont have 4 places to tie in a wire to as shown below.

i have a 5th one to the far left center. whats this?
