Went to the track last night......after finding out my supplier filled my bottle full of air, I ran into an electrical problem. First off, my voltage with the lights on read 10 at idle, with them off they ran, at about 12. Driving the voltage guage will bounce off 14 volts. It takes a great effort for the car to start....we had to jump it a few times. The battery is new. Im running 4 gauge welding wire for power and grounds. The battery is located in the trunk. The terminals were warm after start up. I have 0 guage wire to replace the 4 for the power supply, but Im not confident that my problem lies hear. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Mike

I would check the output voltage on your alternator. Depending on the temp it shoudl read somewhere around 14 volts. With the car off it shoudl be around 12.5 volts. If you battery terminals are hot there is a massive load somewhere, if your not talking about starting. I would honestly look at the brights switch on teh floor. A while ago mine shorted out and did something similar. It gets wet if you have cowl issues.
