ok i just got done doing a 5 lug conversion on my 91 GT and i went to take it out tonight and i have no brake lights at all......doesnt have anything to do with what i did to it but........when i close the doors or the hatch all of my lights flicker off and on twice......the fuse for the brake lights is the same one for the hazards and my hazard lights work......i dont think there is a relay or anything anywhere for them is there?

Check your ground straps, then check for loose wires coming from the connectors. Good luck, me and electricity don't get along very well.

if what Green GT said does not work (i agree with what he said), and brake lights are the only thing AWOL, check the switch on the brake pedal to see if something got knocked off or whatever. should have 12 volts to it, and when the pedal is pressed, 12 volts out. then check the wiring at the sockets (test light) and check the grounds in the back with a DMM (as said). good luck.

how did you test for power at the socket? if using a test light, your light would be supplying the ground (to illuminate the test light). that suggests you have no power going back there.

go back to what i said above about the brake light switch on the brake pedal. if it is open when the pedal is pushed, no power will be sent to the stop lights.

good luck.
