Hey

I have a 90 mustang convertible, and I shorted a wire somewhere. There was smoke coming from the steering column. The ignition key won't crank the starter, although the accessories come on. (Ie. radio, wipers, hazards, horn)The convertible top doesn't work, the directionals don't work, and also the heater blower. Any suggestions as to where to start looking for the short?

There was a recall on the ignition switch in a ton of 80s/90s Fords. You may be able to have yours replaced for free. A lot of Fords were going up in flames because of this.
