I run the above combo in my 89 Ranger's 5.0 and it's dead reliable and performs flawlessly up to 7500 rpms. Cost's a lot less too. D.Hearne said:Why bother with converting it? Why not just install a Pertronix unit. This coupled with a small to large cap adapter, large dist cap, good wires, and a hotter coil, will give you all the benefits of electronic ignition, without the hassle of swapping distributors, and rewiring the engine compartment.
