I think that electronics module is messed up. i forget the exact name of it, but ill give you my symptoms, ive been having them intermittently for a while now(hard to tell cause i do not drive the GT often, prefer the cobra), but now that im driving the GT more often (hard to accellerate in the rain with 450tq@2k rpm), its happening alot more.

so ill turn the car on, then about a few seconds later, the battery light flicks on and the lights dim. if i give the car gas, the battery light flicks off and lights return to normal, but as soon as it reaches idle it flicks back on. now mind you ive dealt with alternators on many cars (Tbird, DSM, Mustangs) and usually the easiest way to test them are to turn on as many accessories at once and see if it dies, if the car dies, alt is bad, if not, alt is good.

i tried that, alt is good. actually strangely, when i pressed as many accessories as i could, the battery light flicked off, but as soon as i let off on them it turned back on.

so whatever, i start driving. i noticed when i am at a constant speed, it will flicker on and off. if i decelerate, it stays on more constant. if i punch it really quick and jolt the car, the light will turn off for a second then flicker back on and do whatever it wants. when youre driving, its more hit and miss on what it wants to do. halfway home, the light goes away for good. i was thinking its a ground short somewhere, but everything ive ever touched in this car is hooked up fine.

id really like to know what the **** it is. i hear that electronics module is like 300$ at ford.

that electronics module is the GEM and it has nothing to do with this problem.

first thing I would look at is is the belt and tensioner, check to see if you have the proper amount of belt tension. Next thing I would check is the connectors on the alternator make sur ethey are clean and making good contact. after that i would check the alternator output voltage both at idle and when you put a load on it. Most likely the alternator is the problem but check the other stuff too.
