My reverse lights and hatch release don't work. I took the stang to ford and they said that the wire housing or something before the firewall melted. I need to replace this and i kinda want to do it myself. I don't really have any idea where to start. Im mainly relying on my dad and you guys for help. Thanks

From what you just said you need a lot of help. The best thing to do is get someone to help in real life. It would take a book of typing to explain what someone could show you in 1 minute.

I can offer this advice, go to an auto parts store to buy a test light for $6. If you want, go get a chepo multimeter (in addition) for $20-$30.
