Well I am tired of having cobra emblems on my GT. The people who had it before me took the GT ones off and added the cobras... crooked. I know I can get to the stub by using some fishing line to break through the glue. But once I get there how am I to go by removing it without pulling all the paint off?

a heat gun should help....

If you get the fishing line all the way through, then there's nothing holding it on. The stud is just to center it....

but if hes saying they're crooked, they might not have the stud so it might be even easier than you think. i definitely second the heat gun and fishing line..

After the emblems are off, use nail polish remover on the adhesive. It won't harm the paint, but any wax will be gone.

Heat gun (or hair dryer), and either nail polish remover or 3M Adhesive Remover and a soft cloth to avoid scratches.

Nail polisher remover is NOT a good idea. It can and most likely will remove the paint. Paint thinner or lighter fluid works well on removing adhesive.

nail polish remover is mostly acetone. it won't hurt your paint. it will remove the wax though.

Well my experience says otherwise. A few (many) years ago I was removing adhesive after removing a door side moulding strip. The paint came off where I was rubbing. And yes, I am aware that nail polish remover is mostly acetone. Maybe it was just that cheap paint that MAACO uses. It didn't matter a lot as I just added a slighly wider bumber strip.
