In Ontario we have a tailpipe smog test. I haven't ever heard of anyone failing based on just a visual inspection, just always tailpipe tests and there are a few shops with some pretty friendly people so I can make sure the car stays warm before going in.
So I have about 10 k on my new engine, and have new high flow catalytic converters, all components on the new 347 are emissions legal, camshaft, intake, and heads.. TFS, TFS, and Crane.
I probably should have attempted an emissions on my first 10 day pass but I was trying to work out some codes. Which I still want to clear. So in Ontario you can get an initial test, then pay 100 dollars for a diagnostic. If you pay for that if you spend up to I think 450 or if the repair would cost more than 450 you can get a conditional pass. So pretty much if I have to replace anything emissions related, I might aswell wait till after the diagnostic so that it will at least start adding up to the 450 if its first on the list. That being said, if I could pass the first time that would be great.
Anyone have a 347 with a bunch of components and clear all error codes. Is it still possible to clear all the codes or am I just chasing a dream. I was jumping from 41 to 92, to rich the too lean... With a 13 iac motor error.
So if I were to take it for an emissions my big question is.... what is better for an emissions test.. code 41, 92. At least for the initial. False 41 maybe. Have a crazy clean egr tube and everything is like new, cleaned every part, before it went back on the brand new engine. Everything seems to point to 02 sensors. But it just doesn't make sense to me because I have 4 02's have rotated through them including switching the good one eg. with code 91 over to the 41 side, and still would get 41.. too lean. Then turning up the fuel pressure by say 1 psi at a time until it would jump to 92. Then back down 1 psi, then back to 41.
Any advice regarding codes and wether lean would be better for an emissions or a little rich. Maybe I'm worrying about nothing. May fly past the emissions test with no problems. With everything new. I do think the car needs to be driven, but I only have one 10 day pass. Guess it will be up and down the street till I get some kilometers on it, while crossing my fingers! LOL
Any advice would be much appreciated!! Thanks
