i removed the stock smog pump from my engine including the crossover pipe on the back of the heads( i did plug them off) now the check engine light stays on and i have an idleing problem. Can i make the check engine light go off with a different ecm and improve idle(high performance, off road, etc.)

I think you'll need a tweecer or some similar tuning device to make the CE light go off.

twEECer emphasis on the EEC, due to the computer in our cars being called the EEC IV. the tweecer system allows you to use a computer to change and adjust all he settings that your computer has. So, in other words, you could probably ( i don't know, i don't own it myself) just flip a switch, well, check a radio button, to turn the CE off, and i'm almost positive you can change your idle. Simply go to the site: www.tweecer.com and it will tell you all you need to know!
