The owners must be retarted! I was just driving home on the highway, its pitch black outside, and i see glint of some reflectors like 20 yards ahead. Its some idiot driving a prius without the lights on. I get they want to save power from their electric engine, but are they ****en retarted?!?! I tried to flash him down with my high beams no response so i gave up and drove on.

Yeah I have seen people do that in my area a bit. I usually flash my lights on and off at them a few times. Some get it, some don't.

I even pulled up next to a lady at a stoplight because she didn't have her taillights on (daytime running lights up front). She said it was a rental and thanked me because she had no clue they weren't on, lol.

Hmmm, I guess they could be one of those extremist "hyper-milers" that do EVERY single thing to save every drop of fuel.

In that case, **** 'em. That is irresponsible like you said, and poses a great risk to others on the road.

Prius = soda can on wheels, I wouldn't want to get hit in one of those.

There's a guy at my work who is one of these Hypermiler's.

I've been trying to track down a "Drive a Hybrid - I need your gas" Lisence plate frame since I park next to him

More than likely, they just forgot to turn the lights on. It happens to everyone once in a while. At least I hope that's the case.

I think it's great that some people want to do good to the enviroment and I definately don't want to purposely harm it either. But I sure hope these people that buy hybrids don't really think they are doing the enviorment that much good! Buying a prius actually causes MORE enviormental damage than buying a Hummer. First, the nickle is mined in Canada, then refined in Europe before being shipped to China for more processing and then installed as batteries in Japan. Finally, the car is shipped to the US. The whole process causes substantially more enviromental damage and shipping the heavy nickle batteries such a distance requires more fossil fuel than the hummer would consume over it's lifetime.

Seriously! It's true!!! Prius Outdoes Hummer in Environmental Damage

So comparably, I'm doing the enviroment a huge favor by driving a mustang!

I find it's worse when you come up on a Smart Car on the highway. They max out at like 55MPH but the owners think that's fast enough for them to move over into the middle lanes when everyone else is doing 80ish

Those Smart cars can actually go over 80mph. I had one come up fast
behind me in the left lane. All I could see was the 2 little headlights gaining on
me, so I moved over to see it blow past me.... I was like... WTF was that.....

Maybe it was a Prius full of Bloods doing that initiation ritual where they cap the first person that flashes them down?

it's the other way around for me...I see them in the "social engineering lane" (AKA the carpool lane) doing 80-90MPH while I'm probably getting better mileage than they are doing 75MPH with my Mustang
