I'm about to go see a 71 mach 1 with a 351 4V, the owner and I suspect the eng is matching numbers, but I'm would like to check for myself. Can anyone tell me where to look, or send me a site or video that would show me where to look.

I found the numbers on the back of the block on driver side ,they will not be easy to see in the car .I believe this is the vin number and not a date ,but if the vin matches the vin of the car it should be the original block

This must also have the date because it starts off as 3-A-1 and then the last numbers of the vin .
